Article 1
Definition of the Council:
The Arab Businesswomen Council is non-governmental and non-profitable economic association convened under the auspices of the Arab League. It includes civil societies, committees, unions and Arab businesswomen companies. The Council also comprises branches, sections, divisions or committees directed by women within the National Chambers Of Commerce or unions. Members of such entities should be engaged in commercial, industrial, agricultural, or service activities. The register of commerce and trade of such entities should be in accordance with the laws and regulations of every country concerned. Furthermore, the Council is entitled to welcome new members who happen to be prominent Arab businesswomen satisfying the above-mentioned membership conditions.
Article 2
Headquarters
The Arab Businesswomen Council's main office shall be in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Nominating representatives and opening new branches in other Arab countries may be done if needed.
Article 3
The Objectives
The Arab Businesswomen Council shall attempt to strengthen the ties between all women in the Arab world and create an environment of cooperation and coordination amongst them in all economic fields to achieve the following main objectives:
- Developing and enhancing the economic relationships between Arab Businesswomen.
- Expanding and promoting the commercial ties between Arab countries and taking advantage of the benefits of both the bilateral and multilateral treaties signed between them.
- Enhancing the role of Arab women in taking the most important economic decisions and her contribution to the Arab e-commerce activities in accordance with the policies of the Arab Free Trade Area.
- Spreading awareness about Arab products and trust of the authenticity of the reference objects.
- Giving a greater role to the public sector (the role of the Arab businesswomen precisely) to explore the opportunities offered by the commercial and investment activities by providing the necessary information and relevant facilities.
- Promoting the developments of partnership projects among Arab countries comprehensively.
- Working in close coordination with Arab institutions concerned with developing the Arab Interface Trade System and taking advantage of their programs.
- Helping the Arab Business community to reach a common position on economic, scientific and regional blocs.
- Welcoming new creative ideas to guarantee the committed participation of Arab women in their countries’ economic life in the economic life.
Article 4
The functions of the Council
The Arab Businesswomen Council shall attempt to achieve its goals by carrying out the following functions:
- Organizing an Arab Businesswomen Economic Forum every year named "Arab Businesswomen Economic Meeting".
- Evaluate the possibility of holding a colloquium to determine sector-by-sector assignments on specific businesses for more coordination between Arab businesswomen who work in different fields.
- Taking the necessary measures to implement decisions and carrying out the agenda of the Arab League Economic and Social Council, or any specialized Arab ministerial councils.
- Building strong cooperation and coordination relationships between Arab businesswomen associations and unions and Arab institutions concerned with investment and trade development.
- Playing a coordinating role between the Arab businesswomen associations, unions and official Arab authorities in order to facilitate and overcome the obstacles the bar the smooth movement of trade transactions between the Arab countries.
- Establishing commercial centers and Arab products' exhibitions in the Arab countries in an effort to support the interface e-commerce and trade, not only in the Arab world but also worldwide to boost Arab exports.
- Taking part in international conferences, representing the Arab businesswomen community and working in close collaboration and coordination with the Arab businesswomen associations and unions in the Arab countries.
- Publishing directories and informative leaflets and brochures shading the light on the crucial role of the Arab businesswomen.
- Organizing training sessions for Arab women in Management and Business Administration.
- Developing relationships and collaborating with Arab consumers' Unions to enhance the role of Arab businesswomen in controlling the quality of the final Arab goods and in showing the way to the ideal Arab consumption stereotype.
- Raising people's awareness, through the media, of the economic implications of consuming Arab products in application of mutual interests' strategy.
Article 5
Membership
- Members signing this statute, "The Arab Businesswomen Council", shall be considered as the Founding members of the General Committee from which the first board of directors shall be elected.
Organizations and prominent personalities approving and signing this statute shall be considered as full active members of the "The Arab Businesswomen Council" in accordance with Article 1 (definition) of the Statute. Any entity of personality joining the council shall be treated on an equal level. |
